Gifted with terpsichorean feet, DepEd Quezon dancesport teams grooved into the motion clinching three gold, seven silver, and two bronze medals to fashion second place in the overall ranking during the Regional Dance sports Competition held at the Pacific Mall, Lucena City on July 13.
Under the Standard Dance, competitors from Infanta National High School, Harold Balignot and Precious Angela Pauline Sude amassed the following awards: Gold - solo waltz; Silver- solo Quick step; Bronze- solo Foxtrot; Bronze- solo Viennese waltz; Fourth place – tango; and Silver - 5 dances (waltz, tango, viennese, foxtrot, quick step) categories. Wilmer Vargas coached the tandem.
In Latin Dance category, Quezon National High School was DepEd Quezon’s representative. The tandem was composed of Renz Ezekiel Ramos and Niovie Malabanan winning gold in single dance chacha, gold in single dance jive, silver in dance rumba, silver in single dance pasadoble, silver in single dance samba, silver in 10 dances (Latin and Standard), and silver in five Latin dances. Genelyn Lachica served as the tandem’s coach.
