Let us stay relevant and significant to whatever situation we are in, especially in this time of New Normal. Let us do research initiatives…,” OIC-ASDS Co said. Dr. Gerlie M. Ilagan, OIC-Schools Division Superintendent of SDO Tayabas City, on the other hand, thanked all the teachers and school heads for their unwavering support and commitment in providing learners with the best education amidst the pandemic. Jay R M. De La Torre, Teacher-in-Charge of Lumutan Elementary School presented his study titled “Improving the Reading Fluency of Selected Grade 3 Pupils of Lumutan Elementary School using Project PGT-ORDER (Parent Guardian and Teacher Involvement for Effective Readers).” De la Torre’s study revealed that Project PGT-ORDER as an intervention material is effective in improving the performance in Oral Reading fluency of the Grade 3 pupils. Likewise, he emphasized that parents have significant roles in supporting the children’s education, especially in improving their reading skills. Ramil A. Borreo, Master Teacher II of Binulasan Integrated School, and Gilbert C. Alva, Senior Education Program Specialist, shared their research about “Readiness and Problems Encountered by Teachers in Quezon Province due to COVID-19: Basis for an Intervention Scheme”. Michael M. Safred, Head Teacher III of Rosario Quesada Integrated National High School from SDO Tayabas City, presented his research titled “Enhancing Classroom-Based Action Research (CBAR) Skills of Junior High School Teachers through Series of School Learning Action Cell (SLAC) Writeshop.” In his presentation, Safred shared that in his school since 2018, only one action research was conducted by the school head and none from the teachers. As a result, the school has a gap in terms of conducted action research. As a way to address the low number of teacher-researchers, the research employed a writeshop through series of SLAC sessions as a means to write and implement classroom-based researches. The teachers were subjected to scheduled SLAC sessions facilitated by the LAC leader and the school head. Lastly, Dr. Russel T. Soltura, Master Teacher II of Quezon Science High School, showcased his action research titled “Designing Context-Based Video Instruction in Enhancing the Conceptual Understanding of Grade 11 Students in Cell Biology”. His study showed that the developed context-based video instruction in enhancing the conceptual understanding which contains real-life application of different biology topics and provides various diagrams, animations, texts, clear audio and other forms of visual aids to fulfill the wide-ranging continuum of learners with diverse learning style is ready for adoption and commendable for use.
